TOPIC: Avoiding C.difficile Infections: Basics and tips on infection prevention in elderly populations will provide information about Clostridium difficle as a pathogen, risk factors for acquisition and transmission, and how all aspects of the healthcare community need to work together to prevent C.difficile infections. It will focus on what LTAC and nursing facilities can do to protect their patients and staff, and how they are a vital piece of the healthcare puzzle, which greatly affects community-wide C.difficile incidence.

SPEAKER: Kristine Rabii, MSc is a Infection Preventionist for Tuality Healthcare. Kristine graduate from Portland State University with a BA in Arts, Music and General Science. She was awarded a Master’s Degree, Control of Infectious Disease from the University of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
