Topic: Mental Health vs Mental Illness: Stigma and Possible Steps Forward – will be an interactive discussion of what it means to be mentally healthy as well some general background about mental illness, stigma and thoughts about what might be coming next in this area.
Speaker: Maureen C. Nash, MD currently serves as the Medical Director of Providence Elderplace Oregon, which is a Program of All Inclusive Care of the Elderly. Board certified, in both internal medicine and psychiatry, she is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and the American College of Physicians.
She is active statewide and nationally with the American Psychiatric Association Council on Geriatric Psychiatry, the Oregon Partnership to Improve Dementia Care, the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP), and other workgroups for the Oregon Department of Human Services and Department of Justice on issues involving older adults.
