Topic: Tools for Tough Conversations: Tips for families (and everyone else, too).

Discussion will focus on practical suggestions for effective communication to enhance connection while decreasing stress and conflict around sensitive topics such as driving concerns and the need for care assistance and/or relocation.


Speaker: Jenell Neufeld is a licensed clinical social worker with Providence Health & Services in Portland, Oregon. Her career has focused primarily on work with older adults, their families, and communities. This includes 9 years in nursing facility social service, 11 years with Providence Center on Aging including geriatric/cognitive assessment, and in 2006 joined Providence Medical Group as a case manager in primary care. In addition to licensure, she holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from Portland State University.
