Topic: Working Collaboratively to Protect Elders in Washington County
A discussion of the local efforts to combat elder abuse in Washington County. This presentation includes a discussion of criminal prosecution of elder abuse cases and collaboration between the DA’s Office, law enforcement and community partners to protect seniors. There will also be a discussion of red flags and scams targeting seniors to be aware of and what you can do to help protect seniors.
Speaker: Allison Brown, Senior Deputy District Attorney
Allison Brown is a Senior Deputy District Attorney for Washington County. She specializes in crimes against vulnerable victims, including sexual assault, sex trafficking, elder abuse and bias/hate crimes. Allison is chair of the County’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), Human Trafficking Task Force, Elder Abuse/Vulnerable Adults Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and recently formed Bias Crime MDT. She previously handled child abuse cases as a member of the office’s Child Abuse Team and has been with the office for 15 years. She began her career in 2005 as a Deputy DA in Lane County after graduating from the University of Oregon School of Law.
