Topic: 2021 Oregon Long Term Care Medicaid Changes
There have been big changes to the Medicaid application process this year. These include a new way for applicants to apply for services and new documents to fill out. Meredith will discuss these changes and how she sees they are impacting clients and service providers. In addition to the changes, Meredith will also review the application process, qualification criteria, and planning techniques.
Speaker: Meredith Williamson is a client-focused attorney specializing in estate planning, elder law, and probate. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and Law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. She is member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Oregon State Bar, and California State Bar. She started NW Estate Law, LLC six years. Prior to that, she worked in California as a litigation attorney and co-owned and managed a referral agency and resource guide for seniors.
Meredith is the legal editor of the Oregon State Bar’s 2012 publication Legal Issues for Older Adults, a guest speaker on the Oregon State Bar’s Legal Podcast, contributor to LegalLinks, and contributor to The Senior List. In addition to her legal practice, Meredith is a board member with the Senior Provider Information Network and volunteers with the parent teacher association at her children’s school.
