Topic: Keep Smiling! Oral Health Considerations for Aging Adults - Aging adults are keeping their teeth longer than past generations. Many diseases and conditions experienced by aging adults impact an individual’s ability to maintain their own oral health, freedom from oral pain, and the ability to eat and socialize comfortably. This presentation will help you understand the connections between aging and oral disease risk factors and provide practical recommendations for helping aging adults maintain good oral health and their quality of life!
Speaker: Rachel French, BS is an Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist at Neighborhood Health Center and has six years of experience providing dental hygiene services in both clinical and community-based settings. Rachel is fluent in Spanish, and is passionate about caring for underserved, disadvantaged and homeless populations. Rachel provides dental hygiene services in NHC’s Oregon City Dental Clinic.
Host: Providence ElderPlace is a PACE program. Those enrolled with ElderPlace receive complete medical care, medications, medical supplies, adult day care, in-home care, care coordination, transportation and more. All the care and services covered by Medicare and Medicaid are included, when authorized by your health care team. Most ElderPlace enrollees are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid benefits, but this is not a requirement.
