Speaker bio: Andy Wallace, MS, Older Adult Clinical System Coordinator, Washington County
Andy Wallace, MS, has over 25 years of experience in mental health and human services, with more than 17 years dedicated to the adult mental health system in Washington County. He has served as a case manager, therapist, intake specialist, and clinical supervisor for programs supporting adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Andy also brings experience as an adult abuse investigator in both mental health and older adult systems. Committed to a wellness-focused approach, he enjoys building collaborative relationships among stakeholders. He holds a Master's in Counseling Psychology, a certificate in nonprofit fundraising, and a certificate in Health Literacy.
Topic: "Be the Connection" This topic explores the importance of social connection and belonging for overall health and well-being. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the causes of social isolation and loneliness (SIL), how these experiences can affect physical and mental health, and why meaningful relationships are essential to quality of life. The presentation will also provide practical tips for addressing social isolation and loneliness, along with information about local resources and opportunities that can help promote social connection, community involvement, and a greater sense of belonging.
