Topic: Ethical Issues in Working with Clients with Intermittent Capacity


Objective: Provide framework for the professional when faced with the daily ethical dilemmas of clients how have "good" days and "bad" days in their decision-making abilities.



Speaker: Ruth Cohen


Ruth Cohen, MSW, LCSW is the principal of CC Consultants and its flagship program, Evolving Elders. Her professional career as a geriatric care manager spanned over 40 years and gave her comprehensive insight into elders and their families.


Currently, Ruth provides training sessions, workshops and retreats to professionals, caregivers and elders. Helping people continue to find meaning and purpose in life’s transitions is the focus of Evolving Elders. Joined by her husband Jerry, they frequently present workshops on Resilience, Planning for the future, and Standing at the Crossroads.


Ruth also volunteers in the community at a local food pantry, the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center, and at AARP Oregon as a participant on the Speakers’ Bureau.
