Topic: "Creating an Inclusive Environment for LGBTQ+ Older Adults"
For many LGBTQ+ older adults, remaining “out” as they age is a top priority. However, finding welcoming and culturally competent services can be daunting, especially for older adults who retire to a new city, region, or state. This presentation will explore some of the key challenges faced by LGBTQ+ older adults, explain how LGBTQ history shapes experiences of aging within the community, and offer strategies on how to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.
