Title:

“The Montessori Approach”

Kim's lecture will explores how The Goodman Group has adapted the Montessori method—traditionally used in early childhood education—to support seniors, particularly those living with dementia. Attendees will learn about the core principles of the Montessori philosophy, such as purposeful activity, choice, independence, and respect, and how these are thoughtfully applied in senior living environments.

The session will highlight real-life examples of how Montessori-inspired programming enhances quality of life by promoting engagement, dignity, and a sense of purpose. Through hands-on materials, structured routines, and personalized activities, residents are empowered to reconnect with meaningful roles and contribute to their communities. The Goodman Group’s implementation showcases how this innovative approach can transform care giving practices and foster a more inclusive, person-centered culture.
