Annual Holiday Giving: In 2013, the SPIN board was presented with an excess of blankets and other items collected for seniors. The board decided in light of this unexpected windfall, we would put the education portion of our December meeting on hiatus and instead select seniors with limited resources as recipients. This decision was met with enthusiasm from SPIN members and a request to establish a tradition. The selection process matches the SPIN goal to serve both sides of the Willamette River. Senior Centers with limited support from governmental agencies are considered. For 2018 we return to the west side Senior Centers of Hillsboro, Forest Grove and North Plains as recipients.
The senior centers would appreciate donations such as:

Knit hats
Hand Warmers (like HotHands)
Batteries for hearing aids
Hot chocolate/Apple Cider/Teas
Chocolates/Cookies
Soaps, shampoos, conditioners
Lotions
Gift Cards
Writing Pens

Note cards/stamps
Please join us at the Hillsboro Community Senior Center (1750 SE 8th Ave, HIllsboro) on December 10th at 3:00 where we will present these gifts to the directors of each center. If you are not able to make the meeting please call one of the SPIN board members, we'll pick up your donations.
